JSHG Helps Protect the Maine Coast: Application For Offshore LPG Bulk Storage Facility Withdrawn

On April 2, 2013, DCP Searsport withdrew its applications to the Searsport Maine Planning Board for permits to construct an LPG (propane) bulk storage facility and import terminal in the heart of Maine’s ecological masterpiece, Penobscot Bay. The company’s withdrawal marks a significant victory for the region, which avoids construction of a dangerous, intrusive facility that would alter the region’s ecological heritage. The victory came with the help of Jones, Swanson, Huddell & Garrison attorneys, who worked pro bono alongside a team of attorneys in Maine to support the community organizations opposing the facility’s construction and operation.
