Kevin E. Huddell is a member of Jones, Swanson, Huddell & Garrison, L.L.C. Kevin has been practicing in the fields of land damage and property rights litigation since 2000.

Kevin received his Juris Doctorate from Tulane Law School in 2000, at which time he also earned a Certificate in Environmental Law, commemorating his focus on that specialty. While at Tulane, Kevin worked as a student attorney with the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, and also worked as a law clerk for the predecessor firm to Jones, Swanson, Huddell & Garrison. In 1991, Kevin completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. After receiving that degree and prior to entering Tulane’s Law School, Kevin worked as a microbiologist and an environmental specialist at the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.

Since graduating from law school in 2000, Kevin has worked extensively on the firm’s precedent-setting land-damage cases focusing on damage to wetlands and other property from oil exploration and production activities, as well as on the firm’s cases representing lobstermen and other fishermen groups with regard to damages to fisheries.  Kevin has also been instrumental in legislative efforts with regard to Act 312, the framework governing the legacy litigation procedures. Furthermore, Kevin has worked steadily on behalf of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East to hold oil and gas companies accountable for their role in coastal land loss as outlined in the action filed in July of 2013 styled Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority – East, et al. v. Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, LLC, et al.  Finally, Kevin brings his litigation experience to assist with matters in the firm’s commercial litigation practice.
