Attorney Bernard E. Boudreaux, Jr. Joins Firm, Office Opened in Baton Rouge

Preeminent Baton Rouge lawyer Bernard E. Boudreaux, Jr. has joined Jones, Swanson, Huddell & Garrison, LLC, expanding the firm into the Baton Rouge market.  Mr. Boudreaux will continue his practice, largely focused on complex business transactions, from Jones Swanson’s new office in Baton Rouge, located in Suite 1920 of One American Place, 301 Main Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70801.

Mr. Boudreaux’s experience in corporate and business matters, including corporate representation, business negotiations and dispute resolution, will expand the firm’s offerings significantly for existing clients of the firm. Given Jones Swanson’s focus on bringing complex business and environmental litigation,  Mr. Boudreaux’s clients will likewise benefit from this combination.

Just prior to joining Jones Swanson, Mr. Boudreaux was a partner at Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, LLP in Baton Rouge for ten years. Before his tenure at Breazeale Sachse, from 2000 to 2004, Mr. Boudreaux served as Executive Counsel to Governor Murphy J. Foster, Jr., during which time he mediated disputes between the State of Louisiana and business entities such as Harrah’s, Inc.; the New Orleans Saints; and three Louisiana Native American tribes with respect to gaming contracts.  He also successfully mediated to conclusion the 47-year-old federal litigation as to the desegregation of the East Baton Rouge Parish Public School System.  Prior to his service as executive counsel to the Governor, he served as District Attorney for the 16th Judicial District of Louisiana, Parishes of Iberia, St. Martin and St. Mary, during which time he served as President of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association, 1985 to 1986.  He served on the LSU Board of Supervisors for eight years and as its Chairman from 2005 to 2006.  Immediately after graduating from law school, Mr. Boudreaux served as a Captain, U.S. Air Force, Strategic Air Command, Judge Advocate General’s Department.

Mr. Boudreaux is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of and General Counsel for Sterling Sugars, LLC, in addition to serving as General Counsel for M. A. Patout & Son Limited, LLC; Raceland Raw Sugar, LLC; St. Mary Sugar Cooperative, Inc.; LASUCA; and Allain-Lebreton, Inc. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of AVOCA, Inc.
